Music Ministry

Also the Levites [which were] the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, [being] arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:) It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers [were] as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up [their] voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, [saying], For He is good; for His mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;

2Chronicles 5:12-13

Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet: praise Him with the psaltery and harp. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise Him upon the loud cymbals: praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Psalm 150:3-6

Sunday School

Hi there! Jesus The Redeemer's Sunday School is based upon the Great Shema found in Deuteronomy 6:5-9:

'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.'

We as a Sunday School believe in partnering with parents to reinforce the biblical principles and truths the church teaches through simplistic but not watered-down lessons. We also work in partnership with our other ministries, providing music lessons and involving kids in creative outreaches in local nursing homes.

Classes are structured and catered towards the following age groups:

- Older Toddlers: 4-7 y.o

- Primaries: 8-10 y.o

- Juniors: 11-13 y.o

Youth

Meet the Young People of Jesus the Redeemer Church!

Our ministry to the young people is based on a vision for them to grow and shine like a “Tree of Lights”. The church serves to cultivate a faith in them that is firmly rooted in the Word of God, so that the fruits of their character may be strength and integrity, evidenced by the work of the Holy Spirit, to which they ultimately shine for the glory of Jesus in their lives.

Our goal is to

- Inspire a deep and committed relationship with Jesus Christ through the two divine channels of God’s Word and prayer.

- Challenge to stand on God’s uncompromising Word in a morally weak and compromising climate.

- Stay connected and encouraged in their faith through regular fellowship with God’s people.

- Recognize and respond to God’s calling as they exercise gifts and talents through the Holy Spirit.

- Successfully set them up for future leadership.

The youth and young adults are divided into two groups: Youth (aged 13-18) and Young Adults (19-20’s) who regularly meet together to learn, develop, and grow in their spiritual journey, and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Core spiritual activities include

- Sunday bible studies

- Outreach “Youth Night” every second Friday

- Weekly prayer group meetings

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light”.

Evangelism Ministry...

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

SO

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Ushers

Ushers in the time of King David were called porters, or gatekeepers:

'And he set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD, that none which was unclean in any thing should enter in'

2 Chronicles 23:19

'In four quarters were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south. And their brethren, which were in their villages, were to come after seven days from time to time with them. For these Levites, the four chief porters, were in their set office, and were over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God. And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning pertained to them. And certain of them had the charge of the ministering vessels, that they should bring them in and out by tale. Some of them also were appointed to oversee the vessels, and all the instruments of the sanctuary, and the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices'
